Rationale for the Laptop Program

 Integrating technology improves student enthusiasm toward learning

 When students are actively engaged in learning, they achieve more

History of the Laptop Program:

1996-2000

First bond program begins
 
All IISD teachers receive laptops

Technology funds allocated for The Academy of Irving ISD

2001-2002

Second bond program begins
 
The Academy of Irving ISD Opens
 
1200 wireless laptops issued to students

2002-2003

Wireless laptops issued to most 9th and 10th grade students at regular high schools

2003-2004

Wireless laptops issued to the remainder of students at all high schools.
