What are IRVING ISD ONLINE COURSES?     
  

Irving ISD Online Courses

Online courses offer students flexible learning opportunity through a challenging, relevant online format that will lead them toward completion of their graduation plan. These courses provide students with greater flexibility in scheduling classes/electives by completing required credits.

  • World Geography - 1st semester (1/2 credit)
  • World Geography - 2nd semester (1/2 credit)
  • Health (1/2 credit)
  • Communication Applications (1/2 credit)

Course Information

Attendance

  • Students will be required to attend a first day on-site class orientation* (dates and locations TBA by teacher)
  • All other coursework will be online and flexible to the students needs
  • Students that fall behind may be required to complete work on site
  • Irving ISD students may be provided laptop if needed

*  The orientation class is mandatory for students to receive their login information and to begin the course.  Failure to attend this orientation will automatically drop the student from the online course.

Course Expectations

  • Hours* Online: You will be expected to dedicate 6 hours per week.

  • Login to online course a minimum* of 4 days per week

  • Meet weekly timelines* for completing and submitting online assignments

*  The Blackboard course software tracks for attendance and assignment submissions, so the above commitments need to be considered carefully before signing up.
