Irving ISD Online Health

The online Health course is being offered again this Summer.  This course offers students a flexible learning opportunity through a challenging, relevant online format that will lead them toward completion of their graduation plans. This will provide those students with greater flexibility in scheduling classes/electives by getting this required half-credit completed.

 If you make a passing grade in this course, 1/2 of the summer tuition cost will be reimbursed to you!

Registration

1. This course is only for students who have completed 7th grade or higher.

2. Complete the online application and print the application form at the end of the online application process.

3. Obtain signatures of a teacher, counselor and parents on the application form.

4. Bring the signed application form to summer school registration:

Attendance

• Students will be required to attend a 1/2 day online class orientation* (dates and locations TBA)
• Students will be required to attend face-to-face testing days (dates and locations TBA)
• All other coursework will be online and flexible to the students needs

*  The orientation class is mandatory for students to receive their login information and to begin the course.  Failure to attend this orientation will automatically drop the student from the online course.  Students must provide their own transportation for orientation and face-to-face testing.

Course Expectations

• Hours* Online: You will be expected to dedicate 5 hours per week.

• Login to online course a minimum* of 3 days per week

• Meet weekly timelines* for completing and submitting online assignments

*  The Blackboard course software tracks for attendance and assignment submissions, so the above commitments need to be considered carefully before signing up.
