  1. I was contacted by one or more of my child’s teachers during the first month of school (August-September, 2010).

  2. My child’s school holds monthly parent meetings on topics that help me be a better and more informed parent Example: Parent Academy, Parent Club, and Counselor Meetings.  (Not including PTA/PTO meetings.)

        a. I attended at least one of these parent meetings this school year.

        a. Teleparent messages have given me information about my child’s school activities.

        b. Teleparent messages have given me information about my child’s progress in school.

  4. I have received information from my child’s school about the academic curriculum, the testing program in Texas and how my child performed on state assessments.

  6. The school vision and mission statements are posted and easy to read in a language I understand.

        a. When grades in Parent/Student Connect are missing or questionable, I contact my child’s teacher/s.

11. My child's school library is available to me for checking out books/ educational materials, as well as Internet access to check my child’s grades, research, job search, college information, etc.
