All schools should have an automated answering system that can be used after hours and during summer months giving parents information on when to call back or who to call instead during the summer, if possible.

As a department who had voice mail and with move to Food Service Center no longer has it avaiable to them IT IS GREATLY MISSED.

The centra net system allowing four digit dialing is working well.

I think all campuses and all classrooms should have voice mail. It would make delivery of parent messages much easier.

Really need remote access to voice messages and ability to delete and save messages remotely. Also capability to change greeting remotely. It is much better not to have to enter codes to activate a feature. Directory lookup of phone numbers would be very nice.

If somehow the system could be set up in the district so everyone had the same area code and prefix, thereby allowing internal (within the district) calls to only dial the last four digits, no matter who he/she was calling.
Also, if the last four digits could be the same for all principals, secretarys, attendance, etc. For example: Schools would have their own, last two digits for their entire building, but throughout the district, all of the principals may have the last two digits of their number be 90, all ap/vp would be 92, faxes would be 34, etc.

The phone system should be able to replay a recording of the calendar of events for the school while the person is placed on hold. This would help in communicating and reminding parents of upcoming school events.

It's important the administrators are able to answer the main line. After our office staff goes home or early in the morning, the administrators have to walk all the way to the main office to answer the phone. However, we don't want the main line to ring in the administrators’ offices; we just want to see that the line is ringing and be able to answer it.

I would like a system where a caller can leave a message and I am able to retrieve it from another location, not necessarily from the same building.

We really like being able to look up numbers - directory on the phone.
