FUN RUN/WALK CHANGE IN LOCATION:

(Saturday September 11)  With the 10 inches of rain Mother Nature blessed us with this week, the Irving River Bottoms are unfortunately under water (see attached picture). We have worked very hard to find a new location to hold the event, which is in the same park (Trinity View Athletic Park), but just north of the River Bottoms (directions below).

Times will be the same, but we ask that you plan to arrive early and car pool. Because of our last minute change in location, we ask that you are flexible with us in the change with the route of the 1 mile and 5K course as the new location does not have a paved trail. Please know that our event will be secured with officers.

Times:

  • 7:30 AM Event Day Registration

  • 7:45 AM Participant Warm Up -Led by Irving ISD PE teachers

  • 8:00 AM Welcome Ceremony –Councilman, Roy Santoscoy; Irving Fire Chief, Mario Molina; IISD ROTC

  • 8:30 AM 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk Run Start

  • 9:00 AM 5K Run/Walk Start

  • 10:30 AM (approximately) Lindsey Lear Celebration and Awards Presentation begins

Directions:

  1. From Loop 12

  2. Exit Irving Blvd and go east (There is a Whataburger on the same side)

  3. The first light is Wildwood, make a left at this light (do not travel down into the River Bottoms)

  4. About a mile up, you will see the park entrance on your right at the softball complex sign (see attached picture)

  5. This entrance is immediately before the railroad tracks

  6. Go down into the parking lot and park near the registration and staging area to the right end

  7. See you bright and early tomorrow morning, rain or shine!
