Lone Star Leadership Academy Education in Action summer Lone Star Leadership Academy programs for outstanding Texas 5th-8th grade students. Student participants develop leadership skills and experience what they are learning in school through visits to historically, politically and environmentally significant Texas sites. Program facilitators are Texas teachers. These Monday-Friday, residential programs are offered throughout the summer. Selected students maintain an 85 or higher average, receive an educator recommendation based on demonstrated leadership ability and are involved in school/community activities. Cost for the program is $745 per student (scholarships available.) This cost is all inclusive: transportation, breakfast/lunch/dinner each day, lodging, fees to all sites visited, curriculum materials, t-shirt, etc. (Student may choose to bring money for souvenirs, extra snacks, etc.) Dallas/Fort Worth, Austin, or Houston/Galveston Locations Early summer application deadline: April 10, 2010 Final summer application deadline: May 8, 2010 For more information, including an informational video and program application, visit: Summer 2010 DALLAS/FORT WORTH Program Dates(For students who are currently in the 5th or 6th grade)

application fee received by: *Payment plan option available. Payment plan: $325 NON-REFUNDABLE deposit due prior to April 10, 2010 deadline to hold student's place. $420 balance due if paid by April 10, 2010; $470 balance due if paid by May 8, 2010.
