Frequently Asked Question:

How to I create a thumbnail image that links to the original larger picture for those who wish to see it?

Answer:

I am glad you asked ... see below for steps in creating thumbnails like the following:

Click on thumbnail for original sized image.

Step 1:  Set the SIZE for your thumbnails.

To set the size of your thumbnails before you make them go to TOOLS and drag down to PAGE OPTIONS.

I like to set the SIZE of my thumbnails anywhere from 100 to 100 pixels for the LONGEST SIDE.

Step 2:  Use the picture toolbar to create your thumbnail.

There is a picture toolbar that has an AUTO THUMBNAIL button that can create thumbnails for you (with links to the original sized image for those who wish to see it.)

To be sure you are seeing the PICTURE TOOL BAR … go to VIEW and drag down to TOOLBARS and be sure that there is a CHECK in front of PICTURES.

The Picture Toolbar will look like the following:

The AUTO THUMBNAIL button is the third one:

Now when working on any page … insert the large picture into your web where you what the thumbnail ... click on the large picture … and then click the AUTO THUMBNAIL button.

FrontPage will make the small image for you automatically and link it to the original large image.
