Substitutes:
New Policy Changes Effective March 1st
There are some new policy changes
regarding substitute teachers that will go into effect on March 1st.
-
New call out times:
-
In the past,
SubFinder
started calling out at 6:00 a.m.
-
As of March 1st, SubFinder will
start calling out at
5:30 a.m.
-
Cancellations:
-
In the past, substitute
teachers could cancel a job as close as 1 ½ hours before the
start of the job.
-
As of March 1st,
the earliest a substitute can
cancel a job is 24 hours before the start of the job. If a
substitute needs to cancel a job within the 24 hour window, they
are to call the school directly to make arrangements.
-
Order of Call Outs:
-
In the past, SubFinder was
designed to call out on what is called skill levels.
Typically, the system was designed to call out on certified
personnel first, then degreed, then non degreed.
-
As of March 1st, the system
will be set up to call those subs who have demonstrated a
consistent work pattern
first, regardless of certification of degree status.
These changes were necessary in order
to fill positions more consistently on a daily basis.
