DigiGirlz High Tech Camp
August 12-14, 2008

Microsoft will be hosting the
DigiGirlz High Tech Camp in Las Colinas (Irving) TX
August 12-14, 2008 from 8 am - 5 pm

Our mission is to introduce 9th-12th grade girls to the many career fields offered within the High Tech industry. This is an exciting three-day experience and it’s FREE of charge. Space is limited so apply early!

What to expect

  • Hands-on learning sessions to educate
  • Keynote Speaker series to inspire
  • Employee panels to answer questions
  • Tours to heighten awareness

Application Details    (May 9th deadline)

  1. Register online at http://www.microsoft.com/about/diversity/programs/camps.mspx. Go to the website and scroll down to the "Application Information" section then click on link labeled "Go to the online application form".

  2. Send both of the the following to the address or email address below no later than May 9, 2008.

    • Your contact information including home address, phone, email, school, age and how you heard about DigiGirlz

    • A letter of recommendation from your teacher, counselor, mentor, clergy member, coach or leader in your extracurricular organization. We must be able to contact this person.

Requirements

  • You must be about to enter 9th, 10th, 11th or 12th grade to be considered
  • All camp activities will take place on Microsoft’s Campus in Las Colinas (Irving), TX
  • You will be notified of your acceptance

Last year, the girls used computer animation to create video game characters that looked like them; that was one of several workshops.
