YMCA Summer Meals Program Free Breakfast and Lunch Served Daily at the Irving YMCA
Thanks to a unique partnership between the Irving ISD Food Service Department and the Irving YMCA, the Irving YMCA will be serving FREE meals to the community. The Summer Meals Program at the YMCA runs from Monday, June 21 through Friday, August 13th. Breakfast is served from 8:15 – 8:45 and lunch is served 11:30 – 12:00 Noon, Monday – Friday (Note: free meals will not be available on Monday, July 5th). Meals are prepared and served by the expert staff at the IISD Food Service Department, and all meals meet the nutrition standards set by the USDA. The free breakfasts and lunches served at the YMCA are available to all people, 18 years old and younger. Participants are limited to one breakfast and one lunch each per day, and the meals must be consumed at the YMCA.
Besides getting nutritionally complete, healthy, delicious meals at no cost, participants will also be saving a lot of money. Assuming that one could purchase, from a casual or fast-food restaurant or diner, a complete breakfast for $4.00 and a complete lunch for $6.00, eating both breakfast and lunch at the YMCA could save a family $10.00 per child per day! On behalf of the Irving ISD and the YMCA, we invite our community to take advantage of our free breakfasts and lunches. The Irving Family YMCA is located at 2200 West Irving Blvd, near the intersection of Story Road and Irving Blvd (See Map). The Irving Family YMCA may be reached at 972.986.8898 |
