Guidelines for Emergency School Closing  or  Delayed Opening

Decisions on closing or delayed opening of Irving ISD schools will be announced by 6:00 a.m. for each day of bad weather.  All IISD parents and staff members will be notified by TeleParent phone notification system if schools are closed or delayed in opening.  If no announcement is provided at the IISD website, Irving Schools Television, or by area news media, then Irving ISD schools will be open as scheduled.

To check the status of Irving ISD schools, access the district website at www.irvingisd.net, Irving Schools Television is available on Time Warner Cable Channel 98 or Verizon FiOS Channel 33.  Dallas/Fort Worth area radio and television stations will also be advised.

Decisions on closing or delaying the opening of Irving ISD schools will be based on road conditions within the district, traveling conditions for staff, and decisions of neighboring school districts.
