Drop Off Your Recyclables

Parents, students, and families are encouraged to bring their recyclable paper and aluminum by one of the retriever bins located on campuses.   Did you also know that schools earn money for aluminum, newspapers, magazines, shopping catalogs, office and school paper dropped off at one of our campuses retriever bins?   Some campuses even recycle cell phones and ink jet cartridges!  Learn how YOU can help ...

Cell Phone and Ink Jet Cartridge Recycling

Recycling cell phones and ink jet cartridges will help you earn money for your school!

Please check with your campus recycling facilitator to find out if your school is currently set up to receive and recycle cell phones and ink jet cartridges before bring recyclables to the campus.

Paper Recycling

Bring your recyclable paper by NOW!   Paper Retriever bins have been in place on school campuses in the Irving ISD for 10 years, saving the district approximately $40,000 per year in hauling fees.  Over the past ten years these schools have earned approximately $15,000 in funds that have been used for various projects on each campus.

The Aluminum Retriever Program

Bring your recyclable aluminum by NOW!   Developed in partnership with Anheuser-Busch Recycling, the Aluminum Retriever program will work very similar to the Paper Retriever program.  The collection bins will resemble the well-recognized green-and-yellow Paper Retriever bins, but instead reflect the blue-and-yellow color scheme.

Campuses within the Irving ISD schools will be the first in the Southwest to participate in this pilot program.  Irving ISD was chosen based on our successful 10 year partnership with the district and strong support of the City of Irving recycling staff.

Schools participating in the Aluminum Retriever program will earn cash for the amount of aluminum collected, similar to the Paper Retriever program.  This is designed to be a community-based fundraiser, with participation from students, parents, PTA and the community.

We believe the Paper Retriever and Aluminum Retriever programs will work hand in hand to provide the Irving ISD with a valuable new fundraising opportunity while fostering environmental stewardship in your schools.  We look forward to working with you to make this new program a big success!
