Insurance ID Cards
Just as an FYI, new insurance ID cards will NOT be generated for employees that are currently enrolled.  Cards only will be sent when someone is new to the plan, changes from one plan to another, or requests a new card online (or by calling customer care).  The Humana Specialty Benefits logo will be printed on the ID Card.  Members will still need to access provider search, claims information, plan information by accessing the www.mycompbenefits.com website.
Proposed Rate Increases on Employee Benefits for for 2009-2010
Employee benefits for the 2009-2010 school year are in the planning stages and awaiting approval of the Board of Trustees.  To continue benefits similar to those during the previous year, a slight increase in rates will be necessary.  See attached chart.

BlueCross BlueShield Mailing Address
If you haven’t noticed, our insurance card does not have an address to mail in claims. We checked BlueCross Blueshield’s website and they don’t have that information posted there either, but their customer service provided us with the following:

Insurance Update

*   Medical Spending Accounts- Debit Cards
All participants in the Medical Spending Accounts have a Debit Card for use on eligible claims.  The new plan year’s money will be loaded on the current Debit Card. 
Keep these cards until the expiration date You will NOT get a new one if you reenroll UNTIL the current card has expired.  If you need to use the TASC website to file claims, please call 1-800-422-4661. * (If you still have claims from 2008-2009 to turn in, you have until November 30, 2009 to do so).

*   Dental ID Cards (CompBenefits/Humana)
If you do not have a Dental
Card you can request one by calling CompBenefits at 1-800-342-5209 or you can go to their website and register at www.compbenefits.com.   Here you can also update your dentists if you are on the DHMO plan. PLEASE NOTE: If you have changed dentists during the year on the DHMO plan, you must update the Facility Number during the Online Enrollment Process.  If you do not, CompBenefits will change your provider back to the number you had in the District’s system.   

Open Enrollment

Open Enrollment for 2009-2010 Benefits will begin on May 1st. If you do not need to make a change and you do not participate in a Medical Spending Account or Dependent Care Account, then you do not have to go online and re-enroll.  If you do need to drop/add a benefit or dependent, you must make those changes during the month of May by enrolling on the Munis ESS website.

Q:  How do I find a doctor in the BlueCross/BlueShield Network?

A:  You can go to the BlueCross/BlueShield website and search for Providers. Our plan is a part of the Blue Choice PPO plan.  And we are being serviced by Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Texas.

A:  You can get a copy of the preferred drug list from the Blue Cross/Blue Shield website.  Remember this list is NOT specific to our plan so there might be minor differences:

Q:  What will be the cost of my prescriptions for next year?

Q:  What is an EPO?  The Benefits Summary 2008-09 (above) refers to an EPO Network.  What is it?

A:  EPO refers to an Exclusive Provider Organizations (EPO). Participants must use providers in the network of coverage or no payment will be made.  However it is still considered a PPO plan when you are seeking coverage.  When you talk to your provider’s office you can tell them that you are on the Blue Choice PPO plan.
