Four sites that maintain school and district statistics:
Academic Excellence Indicator System (AEIS)
The Texas Education Agency pulls together a wide range of information on the
performance of students in each school and district in Texas every year.
This information is put into the annual AEIS reports. The performance
indicators are:
Results of TAKS test; by grade, by subject, and by
all grades tested
Attendance Rates
Annual Dropout Rates (grades 7-8 and grades 7-12)
Participation and Performance on the College
Admissions Tests (SAT I and ACT)
Results of State-Developed Alternative Assessment II
(SDAA II)
Progress of Prior Year TAKS Failers
Results of Student Success Initiative
Results of Reading Proficiency Tests in English (RPTE)
Completion Rates (4-year longitudinal)
Completion of Advanced / Dual Enrollment Courses
Completion of Recommended High School Program or
Distinguished Achievement Program
Participation and Performance on AP and IB
Examinations
TAAS / TASP Equivalency Rate
Texas Success Initiative (TSI) Higher Education
Readiness Component
Performance on each of these indicators is shown
disaggregated by ethnicity, sex, special education, low income status, and
(beginning in 2002-03) limited English proficient status. The reports also
provide extensive information on school and district staff, finances,
programs and student demographics.
Just for the Kids
The
National Center for Educational Accountability is non-profit organization
and a collaborative effort of the The University of Texas at Austin,
Education Commission of the States, and Just for the Kids website. The
Centers mission is to promote higher student achievement by: Improving
state data collection to improve decision making; Using data to improve
schools; Conducting research on school improvement issues; Identifying the
practices that distinguish consistently high-performing schools from other
school.

SchoolMatters
gives policymakers, educators, and parents the tools they need to make
better-informed decisions that improve student performance. SchoolMatters
will educate, empower, and engage education stakeholders.

Published by GreatSchools, Inc., a California nonprofit organization, GreatSchools.net
provides parents with the information they need to choose schools, support
their children's education and improve schools in their communities.
