| LEAVING THE CLASS /
BUILDING Class Coverage
TEACHERS SHOULD NEVER LEAVE A CLASS UNATTENDED!!!
This is very important in attempting to accomplish an objective or a subject
of a subject area and to maintain proper discipline. Should an emergency
arise necessitating one's leaving the classroom for a few minutes, the office
should be notified so that someone may be sent to cover the classroom
responsibility. No one should be in the lounge, cafeteria, or any other place
in the building during a regularly assigned class.
Leaving the Building -
Teachers
Teachers are allowed to leave the campus during their scheduled
duty-free thirty minute lunch period. If the need arises, the teacher should
follow sign out procedures established by the principal. If an emergency
should arise during class time which requires the teacher to leave the
building, a building administrator must first be informed of the situation.
Leaving the Building -
Students
No student shall leave school to talk to any adult or be taken
from a class by anyone without definite and satisfactory identification being
made by the caller and a note from the office. Telephone calls from people
representing themselves as parents should be thoroughly checked. This is most
important when the call requests the release of a student. All students must
be checked out and signed out through the office by the parent/guardian. If
in doubt, check with the principal.
