RECORDS - STUDENTS

     - See Student Records FL (Legal)
     - See Student Records FL (Local)

A permanent cumulative record for each pupil shall be maintained at the school.  This record shall contain a complete pupil profile, including scholastic and citizenship grades, a full attendance report, activities, honors, standardized test scores, and a health record.  These records are confidential.

Teachers, as well as all other educators, should be sure that all entries they make in a student's record are pertinent to the academic development of the student and that the entry reflects a professional manner.  The District will forward student records to other school officials upon receipt of a request for such records whether or not there is a pupil request on file.

Accessibility of Records

Access to the educational records of a student who is or has been in attendance at a school in the District shall be granted to the parent of the student.  Whenever a student has attained eighteen years of age or is attending an institution of post-secondary education, the permission or consent required of and the rights accorded to the parent of the student by this policy shall thereafter only be required of and accorded to the student.  If material in the educational record of a student includes information on other students, only that portion of the material relating to the individual student may be inspected and reviewed.

A parent is entitled to access to all written records of a school district concerning the parent's child, including: attendance, test scores, grades, disciplinary records, counseling records, psychological records, applications for admission, health and immunization information, teacher and counselor evaluations; and reports of behavioral patterns.
