PROBATIONARY AND TERM CONTRACTS

The first year of employment in the District for all professional, certified personnel shall be under a probationary one-year contract.  This contract may be renewed annually providing a probationary employment period not to exceed three years.  For teachers who have been employed five of the preceding eight years in public education, the probationary employment period may not exceed one year.

Following the probationary employment period, professional, certified personnel shall be employed under term contracts which may be for terms of one to three years.  Refer to Board Policy DCB Legal and DCB Local.
