What is ParentConnection?

Irving ISD uses ParentConnection and StudentConnection where parents and students (grades 2-12) may log into the GradeSpeed system and view a student's grades and attendance.  In the Grade section, cumulative averages for the year may be viewed.   When you click on an subject average link, the bottom detailed view will pop up, explaining the assignments.  In addition, you may view the cumulative attendance record.

         

To sign up for ParentConnection, follow the steps below.

To use StudentConnection, go to  https://gradespeed.irvingisd.net/StudentConnection/ or go to www.irvingisd.net and click on Students and Elementary, your student will need his H drive login.  Students in grades 3-12 will know this login.  After logging in, you should click on Grades or Attendance.

Acceptable Use Policy

By logging into the Irving ISD GradeSpeed ParentConnection website, you are agreeing to the following guidelines:

  1. Each user is responsible for their individual login information and should take all reasonable precautions to prevent others from being able to use their account. Irving ISD is not responsible for unauthorized access to student information. Users shall notify their campus administration immediately if a possible security problem has been identified.

  2. Usernames and passwords of new accounts must be picked up in person by the parent or legal guardian named on this form. Usernames and passwords will not be shared over the phone.

  3. Irving ISD makes no guarantee as to the accuracy or timeliness of information contained within the system. Information retrieved via the website should be regarded as unofficial and nonbinding in nature. Grades and attendance are current to the last entry of each teacher.   Teachers are strongly encouraged to post 2 grades per week which coincide with our District Policy.  Some projects and assignments may take longer to complete and grade and may therefore not be updated as quickly as other assignments.  Any specific questions, concerns or information requests related to academic performance or attendance should be directed to campus administration, teachers or counselors.

  4. Abuse of this site may result in loss of access privileges.

  5. Although the district strives to provide access to this information at all times, technical difficulties may make this information temporarily unavailable. The district will not provide technical support for this program and will not be responsible for your inability to access this site from your home or office.


 

Items you will need to bring to the school office for
final approval
  • Photo ID of the person making the request (person must be present)
  • Proof of residence (for example:  utility bill)
  • GradeSpeed ParentConnection Access Enrollment (or authorization) Form
  • Only parents who were recorded on the front of the school enrollment form when your student started school may be approved.
Process
  1. Have a valid email address.  If you don't have one, you may go to www.gmail.com
  2. Go to https://gradespeed.irvingisd.net/pc/ParentSignup.aspx?DistrictID=57912, fill out the required information and click Sign Up.  You may select your own username and password.  Be sure to record it for future use.
  3. Verify your email address by entering it twice in the required box.  A box requiring a code will pop up.  Do not close this window.
  4. Sign in to your email provider.  Open the email and either copy the code (select the code and press ctrl and C) or write it down.
  5. Click back on the ParentConnection window and paste (ctrl and V) or type in the code.
  6. Log in to ParentConnection.  If you have lost the window, you can click on the green link at the top of this page.
  7. Click on Manage Students.  Add your student(s).  This is only for students in grades 2-12.  You will need to know their student ID or badge #.  Your student should know this.  If the student doesn't remember his ID, you will need to come to the school office. You may add student from different schools (elementary, middle school, and high school), but you must go to each school to receive final approval.
  8. Go to https://gradespeed.irvingisd.net/PCAuth/, log in and click the link for the Authorization form.  Go to File and Print.  If you are using the computers in the parent room at school, the form will print in the school office.  If you have entered students who attend different schools, an authorization form will print out for each school.  If multiple students are added at one school, all students will print on each school's form.  If you have added a student since you originally set up the account, you will need to click this link to obtain the form for the student who has recently been added.
  9. On the form, check whether you are the parent or guardian.  Sign and date the form.  Bring the form, your photo ID, and a proof of residence to the school office.
  10. Office personnel will verify your photo ID and that your proof of residence and your name are the same as what was entered on the student's enrollment card.
  11. If all information is correct, the attendance clerk will approve your account.
  12. You may now log in to the ParentConnection program (green link above).  You may also access this program by going to www.irvingisd.net, clicking on Parents and then on the ParentConnection link in the Tools box.
  13. Once in the program, you may click on Triggers and adjust the guidelines for when you will be notified of grade entries and update your personal information.
