Offers Free Breakfasts & Lunches This Summer!
The Irving ISD Food
Service Department cares about “our kids” and other children in
our community. Hunger doesn’t stop just because school is out
for the summer; we want to make sure that children have access
to healthy meals. Through our Summer Feeding Program,
everyone between the ages of 1 and 18 years is
eligible to receive free meals* at any of our Summer School
locations (see the attached tables for open schools, dates, and
meal times). |

OpenOffice will Replace
Microsoft Office on Irving ISD Student Laptops
In
an effort to familiarize our students with emerging standards and to
extend our bond funds, all student laptops will now come with
OpenOffice as the productivity suite. So OpenOffice 3.0
will replace Microsoft Office 2003 on student laptops. Teacher
laptops will also have OpenOffice, but will continue to have Microsoft
Office 2003 for one more year. For the 2010-2011 school year, the
district will have to move to Microsoft Office 2007 for teachers and
staff. All desktops will continue to have Microsoft Office and
OpenOffice. Teachers and students may familiarize themselves with
OpenOffice by using the Tutorials
& Guides link provided. |

Learn Online
about Internet Safety
A
great website for students and teachers. The i‑SAFE i‑LEARN Online
program is an "On Demand" system for Internet safety education. The
first lesson is "Personal Safety" and everyone who takes part in the program MUST complete the "Personal Safety" lesson first.
All lessons are built so you will receive credit for each after you
watch it in its entirety. After the "Personal Safety" lesson you may
learn the other lessons in any order you wish... |
