The i-CAN
project is a bold instructional initiative designed to prepare students
with the skills needed for the 21st century workplace. The initiative
places laptops in the hands of all high school students and teachers who
are working in wireless environments. The initiative is transforming the
teaching and learning environment; is fostering better communciation
between the home/school and teacher; and is promoting students as active
learners. The i-CAN initiative is an instructional inititaive that
impacts every student regardless of of socio-economic status, disability
or achievement level. |

book, "1-to-1 Learning: Laptop Programs That Work" is scheduled to be
published by ISTE in 2006. The result of interviews with about three
dozen laptop leaders and teachers at public, parochial, and private
schools, along with reviews of existing research studies, the book was
written to be a resource for current laptop practioners and leaders, as
well as those considering a laptop program. Salient points and themes
will be discussed and a bibliography will be available as a handout. |
