It is the policy of the Townley Elementary Library to support students in their efforts to learn by providing open access to the materials in the library.  Students are able to check out books when coming to the library with their classes as well as any time throughout the day when their schedule permits.

Other important library policies include:

Lost or Damaged Books--We are very fortunate at Townley to have a large collection of books for our teachers, parents, and students to read and enjoy.  With that great fortune comes great responsibility.  Each patron is entrusted with the care of the books that he or she checks out from the library.  In the event that a book is lost or damaged, the replacement cost of the book is charged.  If a lost book is found, charges paid are refunded to the patron*.

Copyright--It is important that the rights of a work's creator are respected.  As students, parents, and faculty in Irving ISD, we are required to follow not only local Board policy regarding copyright but all laws regarding copyright.  For more information regarding Irving ISD's district policies on copyright, please click here.

Selection and Reconsideration Policy--All materials used for instructional purposes in Irving ISD must follow the district policy for selection.  Challenges regarding the use of these materials must follow the district policy for reconsideration.  For more information on Irving ISD's Selection and Reconsideration Policy, please click here.

*book must be returned within the same semester for refund--receipt not required
