You will research a disease caused by either a virus or bacteria and create a book (with front / back cover) to share your findings. 

1.   picture/description of bacteria or virus that causes the disease
2.   symptoms of the disease / body system(s) affected by disease
3.   treatment / cure for the disease
4.   age/ethnic/gender group most affected (the demographics of the disease is not always determined)
5.   any interesting historical and/or current information (some diseases are ancient and others are emerging in certain parts of the world)

Specifications:

ª   Cover will include a “catchy” title and the “author” name(s).

ª   Book will include at least 10 CONTENT pages (or 5 if front and back) excluding the covers and bibliography.  Pages will be numbered.  

ª   Bibliography will be the last page in book.  It will have separate sections for textual information and for non-original images.  Images in bibliography will be organized by book page number.

ª   A neat, well-organized book with pertinent information and appropriate visuals is expected. 

Grading will be based on meeting rubric requirements (on back of page handed out in class), group self- evaluation, and peer evaluation.
