Automotive Technician I

Grade: 11—12        Credit: 2        PEIMS: 1259102 (AUTOTECH)

Automotive technician is a course designed to provide job specific training for entry-level employment in automotive engine repair and service career field.  Instruction emphasizes use of repair manuals, service and repair of basic components of an automobile: fuel systems, engine, emission control, power trains, chassis, electrical, brakes, heating and air conditioning.  Classroom job experiences provide practical application in diagnosing troubles in the maintenance and operation of the automobile and in making repairs

Automotive Specialization

Grade: 12        Credit 2        PEIMS: 12579101 (AUTOSPEC)

Instructional modules are designed t provide job specific training for entry level employment in one or more of the specialty service careers: Automotive Transmission and Transaxle; Brakes; Electrical and Electronic Systems; Engine Performance; Suspension and Steering; Engine Repair; Heating and Air Conditioning.

Automotive Service Technician I   (to be added 2009-10)

Grade: 10-12        Credit: 1        PEIMS: N1258995 (ASCI)

This course is designed to prepare a student for an entry level position as an automotive service consultant in a Dealership, Independent Repair Shop or retail repair facility. Training will include: Introduction to customer; Reservations; Reception; Consulting; Quality Assurance; Invoicing; Delivery; Cashiering and follow-up.

Automotive Service Technician II   (to be added 2009-10)

Grade: 11-12        Credit: 1        PEIMS: N1258996 (ASCII)

The advanced Automotive Service Technician course provides greater depth into the content presented in the first course.  The course is primarily technology based, and students will be encouraged to work as an intern under the same guidelines that are provided by the AYES program.
