Vision Statement

Union Bower is committed to providing a quality educational experience that prepares all students for graduation, the workplace, and/or higher education.

Career Pathways for Year 1

A Successful Alternative Program

  • Allows student choice – students apply to attend

  • Flexible, extended day, year round schedules & options

  • High academic rigor with a relevant curriculum

  • Connects students to post-secondary jobs, careers, technical schools or college programs

  • Small enrollments with students organized into groups to allow for personalized learning with positive adult-student relationships

  • Allows for accelerated credit acquisition and credit recovery

Implementation Plan Overview

  • Career and workforce high school organized around career pathways for a maximum of 450 students (350 year 1).

  • Personalized learning environment organized around “Houses” .

  • A graduation coach and career and technology teacher will be assigned to each House.

  • Students will “choose” to attend UBCL through an application process.

  • When the applications exceed space availability, a lottery will be used for placement.
