The WolfPack remained
in first place after defeating Garland Sunday with a score of 5 to 2.
Irving took command early when
Cole Edwards scored
unassisted at 42 seconds into the game. Later in the first period
Brian Dinkelkamp
blasted a slap shot from outside the blue line to make 2-0. Irving’s
third goal came off of the stick
Edwards again with
just under 2 minutes left in the first.
Jason Roemer and
Brian Dinkelkamp
assisted.
In the Second period
The WolfPack continued its dominance at both ends of the ice limiting
Garland to few scoring chances.
Jason Roemer scored in
the second and third periods assisted by
Edwards and
Konrad Stoick.
The win did prove
costly. Irving lost
Cole Edwards to a
leg injury in the second period. He will be out for an undeterminable
time. The team expects to have a couple of other skaters return to the
line up next week who have been out with injuries.
