Project Design
Through the design development phases you will experience first hand the fantastic sensation of being part of something really big. Once assigned to a 'production team', you'll know the fascinating thrill of developing a multi media product from first inception through the drawing board and project planning to a final production run and burned CD. Just like Disney, Warner Bros, and MGM you’ll master the technological tools of the trade and have an opportunity to actually create your own movie on a CD or posted to a web site. Successful completion of your teams premise results in CDs burned in the lab and taken home by team members or posting on the school net. Our motto, ”Better Today Than Yesterday,” tells it all. As your team grows in capability, you become more able to develop techniques and strategies for success. Positive team synergy, new found skills and focus put you on the same level as the best of the best. – you, make the difference. Three fundamental building blocks are used in the design of a multimedia product - a "Premise", a "Flow chart" and a "Story Board". After determining the products theme, the team develops a premise describing, in brief, what the viewer will see. Next, they develop a flow chart showing the order that tasks and assignment are to be accomplished. The third tool, a story board, provides more in depth detail and is what the animators and editors use to build the product. . After Indoctrination and team assignment, you and your team will design five projects. The first four develop the team for the fifth - Final Product. At completion of each of the first four projects your team will increase in both knowledge and experience enabling you and your team to accomplish the fifth and final product. The final product requires the better part of two six week periods and requires about 240 to 300 man hours.
