All about FIRE

What is the FIRE program

The FIRE program is a kick-off experiment to fuel teachers with games and activities to get their students moving as they learn. FIRE stands for Fitness In Rooms of Education, taking fitness into the classrooms and get kids moving. The FIRE program is aimed at igniting teachers with a little spark each session. By attending you can take your spark and fire up students with movement and learning by integrating academic areas with fitness and movement. Each spark will allow attendees an opportunity to learn a new game or activity that can be implemented easily  and instantly into their academic subjects. Teacher input on topics is strongly encouraged to make the program as applicable as possible. All grade levels can use the information and modify it to make it their own.

Who should use the FIRE program?

Anyone who works with students in an academic setting. This program’s purpose is to give Teachers, Paraprofessionals, Tutors, Mentors, Teacher’s Aides, or anyone working with students on an academic level, a new way to reach students learning. The program is designed to train instructors on teaching children academically through movement

What kind of material is taught?

The contents will aim to include both Language Arts and Math, the two areas that students seem to struggle the most. Teachers are strongly encouraged to inform the leader of their needs, so sparks can be created to lead teachers in the areas that they need the most help in. Other subject areas can be included in the same sparks as the LA or Math sparks, just change or modify vocabulary or content as needed to adapt to specific classroom needs
