Aloha! Mrs. Hooten is in Hawaii! Check out the pictures below. Monday, May 10 Today we came to the island of Kauai. It is called the garden island because it has so many beautiful flowers growing everywhere. Tuesday, May 11 We went to a big canyon here on Kauai. They call it the Grand Canyon of Hawaii. It was made by a river flowing through the rocks for thousands of years.
Then we saw the state bird of Hawaii, the Ne-ne (like we have the Mockingbird in Texas). It is a cousin to the Canadian Goose. It is protected by law, and they even have signs where the birds need to cross the road.
On the way back to the hotel, we stopped at a souvenir shop and made some silly pictures. Then we saw some beautiful black swans.
