This is our friend Julio from Guatemala that our class has adopted. Julio is 9 years old and enjoys playing soccer and going to church. This money will help with his education and provide the basic needs that he and his family have. It will also let him realize that there are people out there that care about him. Some members of our class have decided to make a monthly pledge to help Julio and his family.
I hope that this project will teach my class to think about other people and to help them realize that they can make a difference in a persons life. We will get the unique chance to write to Julio and find out details about his life. I hope for my students to realize that they really do have a lot compared to other people and for them to learn to be happy with what they have.
