Spelling Contract
 

        

 

This is your spelling contract for the week. It is your choice how many activities you complete. Complete one activity per night. Make sure to spell ALL words correctly on each activity.
A grade will be given that corresponds to the amount of activities you complete.
Here is how your spelling contract will be graded:
4 activities = 100%
3 activities = 75%
2 activities = 50%
1 activity = 25%
No contract = 0%
Late spelling homework will not be accepted. This homework is meant to help you study for you test on Fridays. Do not wait until Thursday night to do all of your activities. Waiting will not benefit you in any way.
You can only choose ONE activity from each category.
You MUST CHOOSE ONE activity from the E or F categories

Assignments Categories
1. Write words in reverse ABC order. A
2. Write your words making pyramids A

3. Write your word and draw a picture that goes with your word A.
4. Write the words, underline all the consonants and circle all the vowels A


5. *Divide each word into syllables and write 3 times B

6. Write your words 3 times, each in a different colors B
7. Write the words neatly in cursive 3 times. B

8. *Make a word scramble and solve it using your words. C singerf= I have five on a hand=fingers
9. *Use all of your spelling words to write questions. Each question should have at least 8 words and 1 spelling word underlined. Don’t forget your punctuation. C

10. Write your Words in shapes (write a word in a shape instead of in a line, use the word more than one time!) C


11. Write an antonym or synonym for each word. D
12. Build words with your spelling words. Try to make 2 words from each word or at least 20 new words. D
13. *Look up your words in the dictionary. Write their meaning. D
14.  Sort your words any way you want to. Be sure to give titles to the way you sort. Ex: Syllable, # of letters, parts of speech  D

 

15. * Using your dictionary, find 10 of your spelling words. Write down the page number and two guide words at the top of the dictionary page. Ex. Lone - pg. 514, loge – long E

16. *Classify the words according to part of speech. E
17. Cut the letters out of magazines and newspapers and make each word. E

 

18. Write sentences with each word. (Each sentence must contain 8 or more words and they can NOT start with I.) F

19. Write a newspaper article using the words. F
20. Write a great story using at least 10 of the words. F
