Our mission is to provide comprehensive and progressive quality instruction for students at all levels in the areas of physical, social and emotional well-being, giving them the knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary to live a happy, healthy, physically active life now and in the future.
Swim Safe is an eight day, in-school aquatic program offered free of charge to all 2nd grade students in Irving ISD. The goal of the Swim Safe program is to introduce basic water safety and swimming strokes to 2nd grade students so they may develop confidence and competence in these important life skills. All 20 elementary school participate in Swim Safe.
The goal of the Swim Academy is to extend the swimming skills and water safety knowledge of middle school students, as well as introduce them to further opportunities in aquatics, such as city/school swim and water polo teams, lifeguarding, teaching swimming or swimming for fitness. The Middle School Swim Academy is a free, after school program offered to all Irving ISD middle school students.
Irving ISD Pool School is a year-round, fee-based aquatic program for Irving ISD families focused on water safety and swimming skills. The cost is $10 per child (ages 4+) per session (four lessons) and adults are free. Click here for more information on Pool School 19-20
Irving ISD aquatics programs are part of the Make a Splash Program. The USA Swimming Foundation’s Make a Splash initiative is a national child-focused water safety campaign, which aims to provide the opportunity for every child in America to learn to swim.
