Letter from the Principal
Dear Bulldog Parents,
It is with great pride and excitement that I write this letter to you as the Principal of John Haley Elementary School. This is my third year as principal of John Haley and I have absolutely loved every minute. I am ecstatic to continue to work with you as a partner in education to ensure your child’s success. I love this school so much that my own daughter attends here!
I have taught a variety of grade levels and have also served as an Instructional Specialist in Irving ISD. I enjoy reading literature about education and just finished “Kids Deserve It” by Adam Welcome this summer and will soon begin “Lead Like a Pirate” by Beth Houf. It is important to me to stay well-informed of educational changes, policies, and best practices.
The staff at John Haley is nothing short of amazing. They have the highest expectations for themselves, each other, and our students- and they make our school shine! This year, we will work hard to continue the legacy of success established at John Haley by establishing stronger relationships with parents, students, staff, and community partners. We will also begin to build a deeper focus on students finding a true love for reading, furthering technology skills, fostering a nurturing and safe environment, and implementing the best instructional strategies possible to increase students’ achievement. We are growing greatness in every student every day!
You are as much a member of this team as anyone. As principal, I welcome your input. I want to continue to grow in this role and would love to hear from you! Please feel free to call and make an appointment to discuss any concerns, suggestions, or ideas to help make this the best year yet. It is up to all of us to work together to make a difference in the lives of these wonderful children. They deserve it!
I know I can, I know YOU can, I know WE can!
