The Irving ISD Communications Department supports the mission and vision of the district by maintaining open, honest, timely communication with parents, students, staff and the community. The department is responsible for the district’s strategic public relations and community engagement activities. Specifically, the department manages and oversees media relations efforts, partner engagement, cable channel programming, special event planning, social media campaigns, translation services, website maintenance and publications.
It is the goal of the communications department to promote district programs, initiatives, accolades and achievements to the community at large. Department staff also provides support and guidance to schools in sensitive situations and at times of crisis so the campus staff can focus on their job of educating students.
To reach parents, students, staff and community members in a format that most appeals to their communication style, the Irving ISD communications department shares news and information in a variety of ways.
