How do I add a button?
Follow the steps below to create a button:
Step 1: Sign into the website as a user.
Step 2: Once in the backend of the website, select the page you want the button on.
Step 3: Type the text on the page.
Step 4: Highlight the text and click the italicized F dropdown menu on the toolbar.
Step 5: Choose the button:
- Button One (dark blue): general, PreK application button
- Button Two (gray): forms and applications
- Button Three (turquoise): Espanol button
Step 6: Hyperlink the button by higlighting the text, right clicking on the mouse, adding the website link and adding a new window.

What are the norms that will keep the website within district brand?
Please keep within these guidelines to ensure the website maintains the district brand:
- Include a horizontal line app between apps
- Size text as normal
- Do not change the color or font of the text
- Underlink all hyperlines and make sure they open a new window. Example: IrvingISD.net/Registration
- Use graphics that are within brand. Make requests through Comms website
- Create vanity urls. Email webmaster to get a vanity url created. Example: IrvingISD.net/Registration
- Do not put pictures on website
- Keep the left-hand navigation feature
- Label all apps. The title doesn't need to show but make you have a label for it
- Spell out hyperlinks rather than saying, click here. For example, Reference the School Supply List (hyperlink directory).

What are some of the new features on the website?
Here are some of the new features:
- School Directory on the homepage
- Mega Menu on the homepage - providing more information for each of the headers at the top of the website. Examples: Families, Students, Board of Trustees, Community
- Important Topics in multiple places
- For Staff website mimics district homepage
- Buttons for applications, espanol pages and other attachments/hyperlines
- Quick Links on each of the department homepages
- Translation for websites that are frequented by Spanish-speaking familes and staff
- Headers:
- Picture headers for department homepages
- Department identifer for department subpages

How do I reorganize the pages on the left-hand navigation?
Follow the steps below to create a staff only page:
Step 1: Sign into the website as a user.
Step 2: Once in the backend of the website, click on Organize Pages.
Step 3: Drag pages to their appropriate spot. You can also organize pages underneath other pages.
Things to Note:
- The homepage needs to be at the top of the left-hand navigation
- The Contact Us page needs to be the last page on the left-hand navigation.
- Alphabetize pages inbetween the homepage and Contact Us.

How do I build my page?
Before you build a page, think about your user. You will want to organize the page so it makes sense to the user, is visually appealing and stays within the district brand.
Once you have an outline, follow the steps below:
Step 1: Click on the Layout tab at the top right-hand corner. Click the layout you want to use.
Step 2: Drag and drop a content app (on the left-hand side of the page). Copy and paste the department identifer in content app. This is a brand expectation.
Step 3: Drag and drop a horzontal line app underneath the department identifer. This is a brand expectation.
Step 4: Drag and drop another app underneath the horizontal line app.
Things to Note:
- Always use a horzontal line app to separate apps.
- Use icons within district brand.
- Do not upload photos.
- Keep font at normal.
- Do not change the font color.

How do I add a new page?
Follow the steps below to create a new page:
Step 1: Sign into the website as a user.
Step 2: Once in the backend of the website, click on New Page under the title Current Pages.
Step 3: Create a title for your page and choose basic or blank page.

How do I create a staff only page?
Follow the steps below to create a staff only page:
Step 1: Sign into the website as a user.
Step 2: Once in the backend of the website, find the page you want to make staff only.
Step 3: Click on the Actions dropdown menu and choose Set Viewers.
Step 4: Click Assign Group.
Step 5: Click on the Please choose a category and choose Show All Groups
Step 6: Select All Staff
Step 7: Click Add
