  • Lost your SNAPCODE letter?

    Snapcodes are mailed to families of returning students the week of July 8 to the address listed for the primary parent/guardian.

    To retrieve a student snapcode, you must verify guardianship in-person:

    • Before August 5, call 972-600-5250 from July 8 to August 1 (Monday-Thursday) 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. for assistance. You can provide verification in-person at the Irving ISD Administration Building, located at 2621 W. Airport Freeway. Note, offices are closed Fridays during the summer. 

    • After August 5, please go directly to your student’s school for verification and snapcode retrieval.

  • Q:  When do schools open for 2019-2020 school year?

    A:  Schools are closed during the month of July and will re-open August 5 from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.


    Q:  Do I have to register online?

    A:  We are requesting all students register online. Please contact your school’s principal if you have any concerns. 


    Q:  Will the school have computers available if I don’t have the internet or a computer?

    A:  Yes, there are computer labs available for those who need access to a computer or the internet once schools re-open August 5. Please contact school for further assistance.


    Q:  I had an account last year, but I don’t remember the password.  How do I get my password?

    A:  Please use the ‘Forgot Password’ link on the login page. If you are still having password trouble, please visit help.powerschool.com.


    Q:  I don’t have an email address. Can I still register?

    A:  Email is the best way for Irving ISD to communicate with parents during the year. If you do not have an email address, you can get a free one from www.outlook.com or www.gmail.com.


    Q: What is a "snapcode"?

    A:  Snapcodes are only associated with returning students.  A snapcode is like a key to your child’s data and is used to complete online registration for the upcoming school year. Families will receive a unique snapcode for each returning student by mail. Make sure to enter it exactly as it appears in the letter with no spaces or punctuation when directed on the form. 


    Q:  I lost my snapcode or never received it in the mail. How can I get my student’s snapcode?

    A: If your child was enrolled in Irving ISD on the last day of school (May 30, 2019), a snapcode was created. If not, you will need to register as a NEW STUDENT at irvingisd.net/registration.

    Families of returning students should receive snapcodes in the mail at the address listed for the primary parent/guardian at the child's school. To retrieve a lost snapcode, you will be required to verify guardianship in-person before any snapcodes are released.

    While schools are closed, please call 972-600-5250 between July 8 to August 1 (Monday-Thursday) for assistance. You can provide guardianship verification at the Irving ISD Administration Building at 2621 W. Airport Freeway from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. during these dates.

    Once schools re-open August 5, you may go directly to your student’s campus for guardianship verification and snapcode retrieval.


    Q:  There is a problem with my snapcode. What do I do?

    A:  While schools are closed, please call 972-600-5250 between July 8 to August 1 (Monday-Thursday) for assistance. Once schools re-open August 5, please contact your student’s campus for help.


    Q:  What if I have more than one student in the district enrolling? Do I need to complete a separate form for each child?

    A: Yes, each student has a unique snapcode associated with their student ID. Please complete online registration for each student using their assigned snapcode. Each form will have sections already pre-filled with information.


    Q: What if I have another student new to Irving ISD? Will I need a "snapcode"?

    A: No, students new to Irving ISD do not need snapcodes. Families of new students can register online directly through PowerSchool. To get started, please click here.


    Q:  Is there a separate registration process for PreK?

    A:  Irving ISD offers free and tuition-based PreK programs for students who will be 4 years old by September 1,2019. PreK students are considered NEW STUDENTS and have a separate eligibility and registration process. To learn more, visit www.irvingisd.net/prek.


    Q:  I  chose the wrong school when registering.  How can I change it?

    A:  Go to the correct school to complete the enrollment process after August 5. Let them know the campus is wrong on your registration and that you need them to transfer your submission to their campus.


    Q:  My student is not going to the same school as last year.  I can’t change the school online.  How can I get the school changed?

    A:  Contact the correct school after August 5 and let them know the wrong school was selected on your registration form. Staff can transfer your submission to the correct school for you. You will need to complete the registration process at the new campus. Please contact the school for procedures.


    Q:   I received the "snapcode" but some of my information is wrong. Should I still complete the form?

    A: Yes, we recommend that you complete the online registration form and change the pre-filled information that you are allowed to change. Information that cannot be changed online (i.e., name, date of birth, gender, birth country, grade level, and school) must be changed in-person at the student’s 2019-2020 campus when it re-opens. These changes can be made once you complete the registration process.


    Q:  How do I change my registration form after I have submitted?

    A:  Any changes to registration data after it has been submitted need to be made in-person at the school.


    Q:  I accidentally registered my returning student as a new student.  Is that OK?

    A:  Yes, you only need to complete one registration form.  However, registration data is not automatically updated in our systems for new students so you will need to notify your campus Data Processing Clerk so they can process your registration.


    Q:  Once I have completed the registration process online, am I finished registering my child?

    A:  You may need to provide proof of residency on campus. Please click here to see if this applies to you (see Enrollment Verification). 


    Q:  What documents do you accept for proof of residency?

    A:  For returning students who meet the criteria, the following documents are needed for verification:

      • Proof of Residency:

    The parent/guardian or other person having lawful control of a student under a court order must present proof of residence in the District in the form of one or more of the following:

    - A recently paid rent receipt.

    - A current lease agreement.

    - The most recent tax receipt indicating home ownership.

    - A current utility bill indicating the address and the adult’s name. 

    For a student living separate and apart from his or her parent, guardian, or other person having lawful control under a court order, the adult District resident with whom the student resides shall provide proof of residence in the same manner as a parent.
    For a nonresident student whose resident grandparent provides a substantial amount of after-school care, the grandparent shall provide proof of residence in the same manner as a parent.
