The Irving ISD Maintenance department is responsible for the maintenance and repair for HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Lighting (Exterior and Interior), Life Safety Systems (fire alarm, fire extinguishers, fire sprinkler, public announcement and clocks), Food Service Equipment, Carpentry, Painting, Locksmithing, Glass Repair and Roofing.
Our One Team One Solution approach to building maintenance is to provide well-maintained facilities for all of our students and staff. All maintenance workorder requests are prioritized and routed to the appropriate personnel each day. Each work order is assigned a priority based on the request ability to provide a functional and a well maintained building for our staff and students. This routine workorders are completed in the order that they are received. This allows maintenance to service the district facilities equally.
Emergency and urgent requests are dispatched immediately to the appropriate personnel. Emergency services are situations which will affect the life, health or safety of the occupants, or that would cause severe damage to a building.
Projects such as adding electrical outlets, adding/removing walls or other installations should be requested in writing to the Director of Facilities. Requests for facility modifications/renovations will be reviewed by the Director of Facilities, and if appropriate sent to the Maintenance Manager. Based upon the scope and magnitude of an approved project, the work will be accomplished as the maintenance calendar permits. Requestors will be asked to provide a funding source for all approved projects.
When entering routine work orders or calling in emergencies, it is very important to give us as much detail as possible regarding the problem and its exact location. Example: Water leak at drinking foundation in 3rd grade hall by room 310. The handle is broken on cabinet door in Room 222. Roof leaks can be indicated on a reduced floor plan of the facility and sent to Facilities Attn: email@example.com.
Please let us know if we can assist with work order system questions or any other issues.
