Recycling in Irving ISD

  • Parents, students, and families are encouraged to bring their recyclable paper by one of the retriever bins located on campuses. Irving ISD is one of the largest recyclers of paper in North Texas and recycles approximately 1,000,000 pounds of paper every year. Each ton (2000 pounds) of recycled paper can save 17 trees, 380 gallons of oil, three cubic yards of landfill space, 4000 kilowatt-hours of energy, and 7000 gallons of water. This represents a 64% energy savings, a 58% water savings, and 60 pounds less of air pollution! Did you also know that schools earn money for, newspapers, magazines, shopping catalogs, office and school paper dropped off at one of our campuses retriever bins?!  Learn how YOU can help ...
