Positive Behavioral Intervention and Support
We are excited to share that our school will continue to implement Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports. This is a school-wide program that focuses on positive interaction with students. By reinforcing positive behavior, it is our goal to increase students’ time on task and create a positive atmosphere at our school. This year, we will focus on ensuring students are taught appropriate behavior in common areas including hallways, arrival and dismissal areas, and cafeteria. Our focus will be on praising students more often than correcting, as well as celebrating students through incentives that are caught following these guidelines. Our guidelines for success are described below.
Be Respectful
Show kindness and courtesy.
Be Responsible
Follow the rules and expectations.
If there is a better way, we find it.
Be Self Reliant
If we need help, we ask. If there is a problem, we solve it.
Be Prepared
Come every day ready to learn.
Be Unified
If a classmate or friend needs help, we give it.
Staff members will teach students our guidelines for success and will be rewarding students when they see students using their 5Bs in the hallways, in the cafeteria, during restroom breaks, and at dismissal.
We would like you to help us make our school a positive place for learning. Please ask your child what the 5Bs are and how they can use their 5Bs to show bruin pride. Thank you for your support.
