How Can Parents Help?
- Make attendance a priority! An absence is an absence whether excused or unexcused.
- Schedule doctor's visits after school or during school holidays.
- Schedule family vacations during school holidays.
- Establish a regular bedtime routine and provide a good breakfast. Schools also provide free breakfast.
- Limit electronic device usage after 9 p.m.
- Team up with school staff to support your child.
- Update your contact information with your child's school.
- Check student's attendance regularly through Home Access Center(HAC).
- Contact your child's school for more information.

Make Sure Your Child...
- Has a reasonable bedtime;
- Starts good habits early (arrive on time and follow the school rules);
- Keeps a planner of homework and important things to remember;
- Has what they need for the next school day;
- Has a quiet place to do homework;
- Does not play video games or on your phone late at night.

If your child has an 80% attendance for grades 5-11, your child will have missed one entire year of school.
