Who this is for
Who Irving ISD is offering this to.
If you work here and you have a bachelor's degree, this is for you.
Teaching without certification
You're running a classroom on a permit or a waiver. This gets you certified while you keep teaching.
On an emergency permit
Permits have to be renewed. A standard certificate doesn't.
A long-term sub
You already do the work. This makes it official.
A paraprofessional
You know these students already. If you have a bachelor's degree, you can lead your own classroom.

Questions
Questions Irving staff usually ask.
How much do I save because of my district?
$500 off your program cost. Apply using the button on this page so your district's partnership is attached to your application.
How do I get the free study guides?
Ask your district's HR department about 240 Tutoring access. If you enroll in 240 Certification, the study guides are included free for the whole program and you don't need to ask.
Can I keep teaching while I do this?
Yes. Coursework is online and self-paced, and the teaching year is a paid job. Most people work the whole way through.
How fast can I start?
Applications are usually reviewed in one to three business days. After that you need to finish your first block of coursework, pass your content exam, and do your 50 observation hours. Most people take four to six weeks.
Is there a deadline?
No. We accept applications year-round. But if your district has set a certification deadline for your job, the earlier you start the better.
What if I've failed a certification exam before?
That doesn't disqualify you. You may need to take the TX PACT exam first. The free study guides exist so the next attempt goes differently.
I don't have an education degree. Does that matter?
No. Career changers and recent graduates make up a lot of every group. We look at your degree, your GPA, and your transcripts.
Which subject will I teach?
We read your transcripts and send you the full list of areas you qualify for. You choose with your advisor.
Do I find my own teaching job?
Yes, you apply and interview. Your advisor helps you get the eligibility letter you need and get ready for the search.
What does it cost to apply?
Nothing. You'll know whether you're accepted before you owe anything.
Irving ISD already did its part.
The $500 is covered. The study guides are covered. All that's left is the form, and the form is free.
