Partners Are So Important

Thanks to the support and commitment of our business and community partners, we are recognized at a national level.

Our partners provide experiences beyond what can be offered in the classroom. From internships and job shadowing to guest speakers and mock interviews, our students are gaining the real-world experience they need to succeed beyond high school.

Here are a few ways our partners engage in our schools:

  • Mentoring students
  • Providing job shadowing and internship experiences
  • Judging CTE competitions
  • Advisory Boards
  • Guest speaking
  • Mock interviews

Advisory Boards

Advisory boards are an important part of Irving ISD CTE. Members of the board serve as a resource and a connection to the workplace for teachers and administrators. The expertise of individuals from business and industry plays a vital role in the development of a workforce trained and educated here in Irving ISD.

At the district level, an advisory board consists of representatives from each high school as well as people who serve all programs offered through CTE.
