Required Screenings

Irving ISD supports student wellness through the Vision, Hearing, & Spinal Screening (VHSS) Program. This program is designed to help identify vision and hearing concerns in children ages 4–18, as well as abnormal spinal curvatures in adolescents, and ensure timely referral to a healthcare provider for follow-up care. The VHSS program does not provide direct medical services; instead, it focuses on screening and the certification of qualified individuals to conduct vision, hearing, and spinal screenings, helping promote early detection and support student academic success.
