Fine Arts and Enrichment

Irving ISD is dedicated to establishing a lifelong appreciation for the Fine Arts by providing a standards-based curriculum in grades K-12. Every student should have a basic knowledge, skills and appreciation of the Fine Arts. A quality arts education program will enable students to develop self-esteem, self-motivation, and cooperation necessary for 21st century learners.

Irving ISD was recognized as a Best Community for Music Education for multiple years by the NAMM Foundation. The honor recognizes outstanding efforts by teachers, administrators, parents, students and community leaders who have made music education part of the curriculum. Designations are given to districts and schools that demonstrate an exceptionally high commitment and consistent access to music education.

Irving ISD was named a District of Distinction by the Texas Art Education Association for school years 2023,2024,2025. This TAEA award recognizes excellence in Art education including student participation and level and variety of experiences. Our district met the criteria of a rigorous 14-point rubric with over 150 collected artifacts of evidence that support visual arts excellence in Irving ISD - involving students from elementary through high school.
