Texas Reading Academies

House Bill 3 (HB 3), passed by the 86th Texas Legislature in June of 2019, requires all K-3 teachers, including special education teachers, and principals to attend the HB 3 Reading Academies. 

Professional Learning Requirement

• Attend all 10 required in-person learning sessions (calendars published below)

Coaching Requirement

• Participants will engage in four coaching sessions.
• Each session includes a 30-minute classroom observation and a 30-minute debrief to review strengths and set action steps.

Artifact Submissions

• Submit two TEA-required artifacts.
