
Ahna Gomez
Deputy Superintendent of Leadership & Learning
Ahna Gomez is the Deputy Superintendent of Leadership and Learning for Irving ISD, bringing 28 years of experience in education, including 13 years in Irving ISD. She has served students and educators across all grade levels and brings more than 16 years of campus and district leadership experience focused on improving student achievement and school performance.
Most recently, Gomez served as Chief of Schools and previously as Executive Director of Secondary Schools. As principal of Irving High School, she led the campus to multiple Academic Achievement Distinction Designations, increased the graduation rate by 6.2%, launched the Early College Start program and improved attendance. She also served as an associate principal at MacArthur High School.
Gomez holds a Master of Education in Educational Administration from the University of North Texas, a Master of Arts in Interdisciplinary Science from The University of Texas at Arlington, and a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from St. Mary’s University. She is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from the University of North Texas.
