Special Olympics

Students in middle school and high school have the opportunity to participate in Special Olympics.

Special Olympics is so important, so our students can engage in physical fitness, demonstrate courage and experience the joy of friendships and competition.

Students who participate in Special Olympics also get a peer buddy. Peer buddies are volunteers in the school help our students with practicing and events. All of our coaches are special education teachers that have volunteered their time to complete certification, attend trainings and train the athletes.

City of Irving Special Olympics

The City of Irving provides quality, recreational programs for ages 12 and older. Special Olympics programs vary throughout the year, based on each sports' schedule.

The following sports are available through Special Olympics Area 10:

Basketball - December through May

Softball - June through August

Bowling - September through October

Volleyball - September through November
