Mariela Magro-Malo, Principal
Ms. Magro-Malo has a Master’s degree in Bilingual Education with an emphasis in Gifted and Talented instruction from Southern Methodist University. She began her career at Farine Elementary as a fifth grade, Dual Language, Gifted and Talented teacher. Ms. Magro-Malo went on to serve at Austin Middle School as the Academic Specialist and later as an Assistant Principal.
Ms. Magro-Malo is honored serve the Britain Elementary students and community. Britain is a great campus, earning a B for their overall performance. Ms. Magro-Malo looks forward to continuing on this path of excellence by supporting teachers and ensuring that all students grow academically as well as develop a passion for learning that lasts a lifetime.
Robin Mack, Assistant Principal
Ms. Mack has been educator for 15 years. She began her career as a 2nd grade teacher in Dallas ISD and through the years was also charged to teach 1st, 3rd, 5th, 6th, and Talented and Gifted PreK - 6th. In 2015, Ms. Mack joined Team Irving and was the Dean at Bowie Middle School. The following year she joined the ranks of Travis Middle school as the Administrative Liaison, serving as the 6th grade administrator and Campus Testing Coordinator.
Ms. Mack has a Bachelors of Art from U.T. Arlington, a Masters of Liber Arts from Southern Methodist University. She is also in the process of completing her doctorate in Public Health and Community Education.
Ms. Mack is excited and honored to join Lee Britain Elementary School where she will serve as Assistant Principal this school year, serving the students, parents, community, faculty and staff.
Monica Tatum, Assistant Principal
Ms. Tatum is joining Irving ISD during her 17th year in education. Her career began in Dallas ISD where she taught for twelve years across the elementary spectrum including kindergarten, first, second, fifth, and sixth grades. She has also taught in General Education, English as a Second Language, and Two-way Dual Language programs. She later served Dallas ISD for four more years as a Reading Instructional Coach.
Ms. Tatum has a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Texas at Austin and a Masters of Education in Educational Administration from Texas A&M University-Commerce. She is currently pursuing her Doctorate in Organizational Leadership at Abilene Christian University.
Ms. Tatum was eager and excited to join the team at Lee Britain Elementary School as an Assistant Principal. Her goal is to build and foster relationships with students, parents, staff, and the community as they play a vital role in the success of Britain’s students.
