Amber Brooks, Principal
Mrs. Amber Brooks is excited to be returning for her second year as principal of Jackie Mae Townsell Elementary. Mrs. Brooks is committed to ensuring all students receive an equitable education and receive a solid educational foundation in their early grades that promotes future-readiness. She prides herself on building relational capacity with students, staff, and the community in an effort to support student academic, social, and emotional success. Mrs. Brooks is proud of the academic achievements gained and looks forward to continuing to lead with a passion and purpose for positive change in the lives of children.
Mrs. Brooks graduated from Texas A&M University at Commerce with a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice and a master’s degree in Educational Administration. She is currently working towards earning her doctoral degree in Organizational Leadership from Abilene Christian University. Mrs. Brooks worked in Lancaster ISD, Cedar Hill ISD, and Mansfield ISD prior to coming to Irving ISD. In her educational career, she has served as an elementary and middles school teacher, math instructional specialist, assistant principal, and principal.
Mrs. Brooks is committed to creating a culture of leadership and excellence. She knows this can only be accomplished when everyone works as a team. We are better together! Together we can and together we will achieve our dreams!!!
Ronnie Davis, Assistant Principal
Ronnie Davis was raised in Houston, Texas, but spent time living in different areas across the U.S. He has lived in Texas, Missouri, Colorado, and Nebraska. He graduated from the University of North Texas received a bachelor’s Degree in business administration with a focus in finance. He received his Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Phoenix and received his principal certification in educational leadership studies from Lamar University in 2017. He started out his educational career as a math teacher at Crockett Middle School, and after 3 years, he moved into special education as a Behavior Intervention Family Specialist at Wheeler Transitional Center. It is here where he served the families of those who needed training on behavioral issues and then served districtwide as a Behavior Specialist. Now he serves as the Assistant Principal at Townsell Elementary School. He is passionate about learning and loves to play and create music as a D.J.
Joshua Cassada, Assistant Principal
Joshua Cassada grew up in Chillicothe, Missouri. After a five year enlistment in the United States Marine Corps, he graduated from Arizona State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in education. Most recently, Mr. Cassada earned a Master of Education degree in educational leadership from Dallas Baptist University. Joshua began working for Irving ISD in 2009. He taught fourth and fifth grade at Thomas Haley Elementary School for seven years. After that, he spent two years as the Special Education Math Academic Specialist (K-12) for Irving ISD. Joshua started working as the Townsell Elementary Assistant Principal in July, 2018.
