Alberto Zavala, Principal
"I am truly honored to have this opportunity to serve as principal of Good Elementary School," says Mr. Zavala. "I am committed to the success of every child, and I look forward to working collaboratively with the entire Good community in building upon the amazing things that are already in place."
Mr. Zavala has worked in education for more than 10 years, starting his career in Dallas ISD as a bilingual teacher. He joined Irving ISD in 2011, working first as a bilingual instructional interventionist before moving into the assistant principal role, and later the principal role at Thomas Haley.
A native of Irving, Mr. Zavala attended Schulze Elementary School, Bowie Middle School and graduated from Nimitz High School.
Mr. Zavala earned a Master of Education in leadership and policy studies from the University of Arlington at Texas, where he also earned his undergraduate degree. He is currently working on his doctorate in educational leadership at Dallas Baptist University.
Maria Teresa Bloomfield, Assistant Principal
Mrs. Bloomfield is very excited to return to the John R. Good family as an Assistant Principal!
Originally from Chile and, due to her husband’s job, Bloomfield has had the privilege of living and working in Sweden, Mexico and the USA. Mrs. Bloomfield has three wonderful children; two of them attended John R. Good. She has been blessed to serve the Irving community since 2006 as a bilingual teacher at J.R. Good, intervention specialist, ELL district specialist and Assistant Principal.
Mrs. Bloomfield is a passionate educator who hopes to continue making a positive impact on students' academic achievements and attainment of a long love for learning. Additionally, she looks forward to a strong working relationship with the John R. Good community, and welcomes any calls or emails should anyone need to contact her, because as she says, she is here to serve!
Mrs. Bloomfield earned her associate's degree in English and Spanish Translation, as well as her bachelor's degree in Psychology from Endicott College, and Masters of Education from Southern Methodist University.
Eddie Robles, Assistant Principal
Eddie Robles has been a part of the Irving ISD community for several years, and is excited to return to elementary after serving at the middle school level for a few years. Robles is a native of East Texas and attended Stephen F. Austin, then the Univeristy of Texas at Arlington, where he earned a Bachelor's degree in Information Systems and Psychology. Later, Robles earned a Master's in Education from Concordia University in Austin. After working as both a Bilingual and Dual Language teacher in both elementary and secondary schools, Robles worked as an AVID coordinator at Austin Middle School. He then became Administrative Liason at de Zavala Middle School and Houston Middle School, and now is proud and honored to be part of the John R. Good family.
As an educator, Robles wants to help students reach their full potential by facilitating a safe, supportive, and collaborative environment.
